I just read chapter 7 in the book of Mosiah in the Book of Mormon.  It talks about the people in the land Lehi-Nephi who lived in bondage to the Lamanites.  They were in bondage because they did not follow God.  I love what verse 33 says:

"But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage."

It shares the message of hope through Christ.  If we but turn away from our iniquities the Lord will deliver us our of bondage.  Trust in God and He will be with you.
